I am looking for a preceptor for a pediatric clinical rotation during the fall semester, 2014.  This is my last clinical course and has by far been the most difficult to secure a clinical preceptor.  I do have an arrangement for hours as one of the urgent clinics but need the experience/exposure in health maintenance in the pediatric office.

I appreciate any suggestions or recommendations.

I am unsure if you have yet to secure but, have you considered the Tennessee Health Departments. I know our clinic has a pediatrician who is very willing to assist. We are at the Seqouyah Health Center in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee.

Can you please tell me as well who you are utilizing for the Urgent Care, as I am in the beginning stages of trying to attain sites.

Thank you,

Michelle,
Thanks so much for the information on Seqouyah Health Center.  Do you work at that clinic?  Who should I contact to inquire?  I am in the process of applying for my Georgia license so I could start looking in that area.  Be sure to get your peds lined up way in advance.  Everything has fallen into place so easy for me until pediatrics which I was very proactive in obtaining a preceptor.

I am using MedSouth Urgent Care Family and Pediatric in Ooltewah.  It has been one of the best learning experiences so far.  Start early to get your clinical sites secured. After I get the peds rotation in place, I am starting to get sites for the practicum in Spring 2015 now.

Let me know if I can help you in any way or share any experiences.

Carol,

Thank you so very much for the advice. I will try to contact them. Yes, I am currently employed at Sequoyah. I love it here. The contact person for clinicals is Kim Hodge. She is our clinic manager. our number is 423-842-3031.

     Sincerest wishes,

     Michelle

Carol and Michelle,

I had a great clinical experience with Dr. Marcie Burton, Pediatrician at Children's Diagnostics Center in East Brainerd,  423-894-3252. She may be booked up for a while but may be available later this fall.  I am looking for a Primary Care Family site that I can complete hours this Summer and for Fall. My site fell through that I was planning on getting hours in this summer. If you know of any good sites in Tennessee I would appreciate any info. I just got a Women's Health Site at the Health Department in Chattanooga. I appreciate the information from your posts and I highly recommend having some alternate sites. I thought I had a Women's Health and Primary Care site both ready to go this Summer and now I am scrambling to find alternate sites. I have nearly 200 more hours to get in by the middle of August.

Best wishes for a successful completion of your program!

Sherry

Luulisi ettei tuollaisella "staralla" (meikkaaja, lajuala, mallien etsije4, muodin asiantunti, ja mite4 kaikkea muuta oletkaan?) ole aikaa tutkia mite4 ihmiset kirjoittaa jossain demin sivuilla he4neste4. Jos sulla on niin kova tarve tuoda ittee4s esille niin, keske4 sitten mite4 ihmiset susta ajattelee, ei heti tartte te4e4lle4 alkaa "itkeme4e4n" vaikka te4me4 onkin sharonin blogi, ja he4nen korkeutensa saa tehde4 te4e4lle4 mite4 haluaa, eike4 he4nelle saa antaa siite4 negatiivista palautetta. http://bkqqqx.com iysxqo [link=http://vyycotqwew.com]vyycotqwew[/link]
